Construction Law

With a background both in private practice and as in-house counsel at one of Sweden’s largest construction companies, Mattias has worked with matters in construction law for over 20 years. He has extensive experience of contract drafting and contract negotiations in construction projects, of monitoring projects and providing legal and commercial advice throughout the construction phase as well as during the defects liability period – and, not least, if a dispute would arise. He has a thorough understanding of the construction and real estate industries. Mattias has acted as counsel for subcontractors, main contractors and both public and private employers, during ongoing construction projects as well as in disputes. In addition to disputes based on the Swedish standard terms AB 04, ABT 06 and ABA 99 he has handled disputes based on international construction contracts and bespoke contractual arrangements between parties. He regularly delivers highly regarded seminars and lectures in the field and has participated in the reference groups for the reference works AMA AF 21 and AMA Funktion 22.

An additional advantage is that Mattias has technical understanding and knowledge of complex construction projects. He is accustomed to working with technical specialists and has a network of highly qualified external experts across a wide range of disciplines.
