During his career as a lawyer, Mattias has primarily worked with litigation and arbitration. Most of the cases have been construction-related – including construction projects, disputes regarding technical consultants, insurances for constructions etcetera. During his period as in-house counsel, he was also actively involved in several of the company’s ongoing disputes.
Mattias has also represented clients in cases relating to insurance law, real estate disputes, tort, contract law as well as disputes relation to sale of goods, share and business transfers etcetera. His experience includes pleading many cases before district courts and courts of appeal, and has acted as counsel in three cases before the Supreme Court. He has also acted as counsel before the Administrative Court, the Administrative Court of Appeal and the former Patent Appeals Court, as well as different Authorities.
Mattias has taught arbitration law at law school and, for several years, also served as course director for the advanced course in Swedish and international arbitration law at Stockholm University. He has also authored articles in the field. Mattias has acted as counsel in both ad hoc arbitrations and arbitrations conducted under the SCC Rules.
In addition, Mattias has experience from several appellate inspections and other forms of alternative dispute resolution under the Swedish standard terms for construction contracts. He has acted as a mediator in disputes and as counsel in mediation proceedings.
