Counsel and Representation

Mattias Nilsson and Josefine Gelevska act as counsel in court proceedings, arbitrations, and other forms of dispute resolution, including arbitration inspections and expedited dispute resolution procedures. They also represent clients prior to formal legal proceedings, with the aim of preventing disputes from arising or strengthening the client’s position for future proceedings. In larger disputes, established collaborations with other professionals enable the assembly of tailored teams of varying size and expertise to meet the specific needs of each case.

Arbitration, Expert in Arbitration Inspections, Mediator and Other Appointments

With extensive experience, particularly within the construction industry, and a deep understanding of construction law and dispute resolution – Mattias accepts appointments as arbitrator, member or chair of Arbitration Inspections, and as an independent expert for other kinds of Alternative Dispute Resolution. He also serves as a neutral expert in expedited dispute resolution procedures under the Swedish standard construction contracts. In addition, Mattias acts as mediator and is also engaged to provide independent second opinions in ongoing disputes.

Legal Advicinge

Mattias and Josefine provide current legal advice to contractors, employers/developers, and companies operating across a wide range of industries. Their work includes drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on day-to-day legal matters, and interpreting contractual provisions and legislation.

 

Within the field of construction law, common matters include variation orders (additions and alterations, ÄTA works), cost-plus contracts, project documentation, delays and disruptions, claims relating to consultants, inspection and certification matters, defects, liability and claims for damages. Advice is provided to all different parties in  the contractual chain of construction and infrastructure projects.

Courses, Lectures and Seminars

Mattias regularly lectures and leads seminars in construction law, including courses for Byggindustrin Akademi, in addition to teaching at universities and university colleges.

 

He also provides tailored in-house training programmes for companies, primarily focusing on construction law and related contractual matters, as well as dispute resolution.
